Activities

Russian River Beaches
Walk or drive the 1/2 mile to the Wohler Bridge and beach access to the Russian River. This semi-private beach area is an excellent place to escape the crowds normally seen on the Russian River.

Sonoma Coast Beaches
Known for its jagged coastline and cliffs, Sonoma County offers breathtaking views and scenery. The coastal towns of Jenner and Bodega Bay embody a simpler life; where fishing trawlers can be seen coming and going throughout the day. The state park and beaches at Salt Point and Goat Rock boarder each side of the Russian River as it empties into the Pacific Ocean. For surfing, consider Dillon Beach and Bodega Head, located just outside the quaint town of Bodega Bay.

Looking for something more adventuresome? How about abalone diving? The Sonoma Coast has produced some record-breaking abalones. Learn more..

Armstrong Redwoods Preserve & Austin Creek State Park
Just minutes from The Inn, you will discover the largest grove of first-growth (up to 1,400 years old) Redwoods in California. The serene, majestic beauty of this Grove is a living reminder of the magnificent primeval redwood forest that covered much of this area before logging operations began during the 19th century. Armstrong Redwoods preserves 805 acres of the stately and magnificent Sequoia, commonly known as the coast redwood. These trees stand together as a testament to the wonders of the natural world. The Grove offers solace from the hustle and bustle of daily life, offering the onlooker great inspiration and a place for quiet reflection. Whether you choose to drive, walk, hike, or horse-back ride the numerous roads and trails, the experience will not be disappointing.

Shopping
Downtown Healdsburg has an abundance of stores for window-shopping. Browse through antiques, jewelry, artwork, boutiques and, of course, wine-tasting shops. When you are ready for a break, visit Flying Goat Coffee or Oakville Grocery. Either sit inside or walk across to the town green.

Horse Carriage Tours
Enjoy a romantic and relaxing wine tasting tour in Sonoma County's splendid Alexander Valley, just minutes from the historic town of Healdsburg and the beautiful Russian River. In a carriage drawn by elegant horses, travel leisurely along our scenic route through the vineyards which produce the award-winning wines you will be tasting.

Getaway Adventures
Getaway Adventures is the premier tour operator of California’s Wine Country. We offer bicycling, kayaking, hiking and van tours in both Sonoma and Napa counties. We operate 7 days a week and offer several tour options every day in high season. 1-800-499-2453
